A Little About
Me ...
I live in Eastern PA with my husband, Louis, son Alexander,
and daughter Emily. Completing our family are our many
pets: Rocko the Doberman, Sasha the German Shepherd,
Nefertari the fat cat, and Gloria the Hamster.
Louis and I were married in 1990 at the Brandywine River
Museum in Chaddsford, PA. It was amazing to be both
surrounded by loved ones and by art! Our son Alex was born
in 1992 and is now a senior in high school and will attend
college in the fall (Yikes! Where did the time go?). In
2001, Emily was born in China and we all traveled to adopt
her and bring her home in 2002 when she was 9 months old.
She is now in third grade, loves school, plays sports and
piano, and is an avid reader!
As a graduate of Boston University's College of
Communication, most of my career has focused on marketing
and PR efforts. After I left the corporate world, I spent a
decade home with my kids, though I never really thought of
myself as a stay-at-hom mom since I seldom stayed at home.
I challenged myself with volunteer work including a
position on the Board of Trustees for a fledgling charter
school. During this time I even dabbled with an antiques
business and provided volunteer PR services for my son's
school and our church.
I re-emerged from my professional hiatus to start my first
business; a virtual assistance practice called Equalibrium VA
Services. And now I can't stop finding new ways to
challenge myself and grow both personally and
professionally! I have moved forward by establishing
Alexemi Publishing and
most recently, added a direct-sales jewelry business
(Premier Designs).
I don't have a lot of hobbies (or time for them) but I do
enjoy playing bells in a local hand bell choir. I consider
this my weekly meditation - when you're counting and
playing bells, you can't think about anything else.
I love to write and plan to do more of this in the coming
year (like new business ideas, I have a lot of book ideas
swimming around in my head as well). My first book project
was a children's book Emily
and I created. Regardless of what I write or publish
in the future, this will always remain my very
favorite creation!
